I have recently discovered that in the past few years Rock music and other Genres of rock such as Metal, thrash ETC. has been accepted a lot less in society. Personally i don,t think that this is a correct way to address the different Genres of music in the world.
This crisis has mainly stricken Mainland England. The music channels on free view boxes are all chart musics and R&B. All rock fans know that these are all utter bull. The lame rhyming and the beats that are all so repetitive, i'm surprised that England suicide rate is not driven by the terrible shoddy music that we have to listen to when we tune into a radio station. The only station that i can find that has the slightest interest in Rock is Kerrang!, but even then I can only find that station on my free view box. We could supposedly listen to the radio on I pod touches or I phones. But as we all know not everyone has an I pod.
Peoples recent obsession with chart music has killed some of the best record labels ever! Labels sch as Warner Bros Records, they had some of the best artists under there belt. Bands such as Green day, Disturbed and avenged sevenfold. Now because of the ever reducing climate of less Rock bands coming through and more Pop and Rap stars. Therefore This particular record label has had to result to signing these pathetic amateurs that don't even sing there songs, they talk into a microphone and allow technology to do the rest! One of my Favorite record labels is visible noise records. They discovered bands such as BMTH and Your demise. However they have not signed any recent groups in the past year or so. This is once again by the sudden plummet of rock groups making the big time. However the record label named Island records, well, there signings are going sky high!
Personally I think that the main cause of lack of rock music is because of the children of England and other main stream capitalist countries such as America are having loads of radio stations play the same song over and over again so that unsuspecting members of the public are being brainwashed into getting the tune stuck in there head and end up enjoying the tune. This eventually is passed down onto there children abd then there children's children and so on. I personally see this as a form of low intencity propaganda. I have managed to break passed the barriers of this and allowed myself to breath in what ever culture of music i choose to support!
I a few moths ago, started a band to play proper music to society, as a wake up call to get people thinking that music is a big part of life and so should not be wasted. Our vocalist is a vocalist that you would want to hear at least once in your life. Her name is Jessica Frew and is probably the best vocalist i have heard under 18. Then we have the rest of our band Conor Thompson-Plant(lead) , Phil Brown(drums), Micheal(bass) and i play rhythm. I am not trying to sell our band I just want to prove that somewhere there is an amature band that is interested in good music!
